Robert Kawasaki’s Career Advise

I saw this video clip of Robert Kawasaki’s interview with Time Magazine last 2010. It was a short 5-minute clip, but the lessons I learned was diabolical. He told of his life story briefly and how he started to have a desire to be rich when he was 5 years old. This, he mentioned, is the very first thing every rich man has to have – the desire for something achievable. If we have the desire to pursue our dreams, we will be able to reach them.

The next step is to seek for the best mentors who will serve as good role models for us to achieve our goals. Having the right companionship can make your goals a lot easier to achieve because we learn a lot from their everyday activities and routines. We get wiser by hanging out with wise people. A colleague advised me once that if I want to start an online travel agency business but don’t have any friends or family who share my passion, I can always rely on websites like the American or Australia business directory for inspiration. I never really got started on the business, but that wise advise opened my mind to the possibility of having a Plan B.

So if you have big dreams but are stuck in the office doing something else, don’t lose that desire you within you. Hang around people who share the same passions and are already living the dream you aspire. They will help to encourage you to live your dreams by pursuing and living their own.
