Looking for a Job While in One

These days, employees usually move around quite a lot for different reasons. Compared to the yesteryears of employment, the office worker today has the resources to find a new job quickly at the tip of his fingers: the internet.

However, looking for a job while employed can be quite a risk as these statistics will show you:
…around 25% of employers admit to reading and/or monitoring employee email messages. You cannot assume that your boss isn’t one of those 25%.

So how do you safely patrol the job openings page? Here are some tips:

  • Do not use your company email account to send personal email messages
  • Do not make phone calls to prospective employers if you are at work.
  • Ensure that your resume is safe on-line
